《新丁驾到》是Ed  Decter  执导，由DJ·考尔斯  艾丽莎·杜什库  佐伊·丹斯切尔  等主演的电影。该片于2002在美国上映，讲述了以下点点。

哈迪逊（DJ·考尔斯 DJ Qualls 饰）是一个众人眼中的讨厌鬼，即便很快就要迎来高中生活，但这一状况却从未有过改变。从小到大都在嘲笑和欺压中长大的哈迪逊终于忍耐到了极限，他彻底随着性子大闹了一回，却也因此经历了牢狱之灾。 　　在狱中，哈迪逊结识了名叫路德（艾迪·格里芬 Eddie Griffin 饰）的男人，路德是一个经验丰富的过来人，正是他教会了哈迪逊许多做人的技巧和道理。出狱后的哈迪逊决定改名换姓重新做人，果不其然，利用路德教他的方法，哈迪逊很快便得到了周遭同伴的喜爱和信任。悲惨的生活眼看就要成为过去，就在这个关键时刻，一个旧日校友的出现令哈迪逊陷入了谎言被揭穿的危机。

头一遭拿起导演棒艾德·戴克特其实并不会让人觉得陌生。他作为《哈拉玛丽》的主创剧本，创造出诸多活灵活现的喜剧人物实在已经让人印象深刻。像拉链与发胶这样的别出心裁的爆笑桥段，更是让人大笑之后又实在钦佩他那惊人的架空构思能力。由他来执导这部年初上映的校园青春喜剧，想必其笑料指数还可以再创新高，给发行商来个开门红。

至于男主角一职，由曾经在《哈拉上路》Road Trip中出演骨瘦如柴、性格木讷的凯尔并有上佳表现的DJ. 奎尔斯担任。DJ. 奎尔斯不仅在扮演弱者方面有几乎让人怀疑是与生俱来的超级表现力，而且对孱弱角色的性格自压抑到爆发之间的心理变化也能拿捏得恰到好处。这使他虽然拍片不多，但已有足够的资本在《新丁驾到》中同时展现主角失意与得意的两个方面而不显得捉襟见肘。

此外，拥有一张老脸偏偏又喜欢反串喜剧角色的美国著名乡村歌手莱尔·劳伏特被也请了来，这位89年格兰美奖得主在戏中扮演哈里逊的父亲。而幽默逗趣的黑笑匠艾迪·格里芬来表演狱中牢友路德。这两人被好莱坞的影评人认为是海水与火焰般的“完美的组合”，把DJ. 奎尔斯夹在中间是真正的绝配。

本片还有一个卖点是靓女云集：首先，《真实的谎言》中曾扮演阿诺小女儿，去年出演《魅力四射》（Bring It On）深受好评的艾丽莎·杜舒作了女主角。之后《成名在望》中饰演威廉姆姐姐的佐伊·德斯查奈尔也轧入一角，更添亮眼色彩。其他的还有在《选美皇后》中扮演佛蒙特小姐的杰西卡·海勒（Jessica Hale）等等，一同并入脂粉攻势，使这部影片在令观众开怀之外也变得益发养眼。
